Showers: Choosing the design...

To many, a shower valve is nothing more than a diverter in the bathtub.
Nothing could be further from the truth! Today, the options are endless, and there are dozens of features from which to choose. Traditional single-spray showerheads are still available, whether for a single purpose shower enclosure or as part of a bath-shower combination in either an all-in-one unit

or separate taps and shower unit, but that is just the beginning.
Showerheads offer a choice of spray patterns, and valves can
control multiple outlets operating together or independently from
different heights, or as supplementary hand-held sprays (depending on hot water supply).

By shopping carefully, the homeowner can design a shower enviroment best suited to his/her taste and lifestyle. It can be either soothing or invigorating, large or small and open (wetroom) or enclosed (cubicle)… all delivered at your perfect temperature.

Think about this, the shower valve is the critical element. A thermostatically controlled valve can maintain an adequate flow of water through the system at a precise temperature. Of course water flow requires an adequate water supply, but if the pressure and flow are sufficient to feed the system, the valves can direct the flow to where it is needed.

High-flow valves with multiple spray designs fall into the broad category
of "Custom Showers". Sometimes advanced hand sprays with flexible
hoses are incorporated into the plan, these are referred to as "Hotel"
hand showers. We will ensure that your shower will operate the way it should.

Baths: Choosing the design...

Almost all homes contain at least one bath, even though more and more are being replaced with showers…some homes even have several. Unfortunately, baths are often added to blueprints without considering the homeowners needs or desires. This is unfortunate as there is a multitude of options from which to choose. A little thought and planning can make a big difference in the owner's enjoyment of his/her bathing experience...

If you are replacing an older bath however, you should try to replace it with a model of similar size so that it will fit through the doorways of the house. They come in a variety of sizes from 4ft - 6ft or more in length. When selecting a bath the most important consideration is comfort. Tubs are being designed in every conceivable size and shape, in a variety of materials and comfort features. The best way to choose one is to think of how it will be used.

Quality...

Also remember that a plumbing investment directly affects property values. Unlike most other purchases, a quality plumbing system should cost almost nothing over time, in fact it may actually increase in value if the equipment is properly cared for. In time it often exceeds 100%. In new constructions sub-standard bathrooms can negatively impact home values. Homes in higher priced neighbourhoods are expected to include more luxurious features. Short-changing the master bathroom could lower your property value.
